Growing bunnies

The baby bunnies are growing quickly and now live outside with mom. Here are a few recent photos and a video of them.

Eyes just opened, about 1.5 wks old.

Two weeks old and ready to explore.

3 weeks old, a view inside the nestbox.

Playing with the babies on the bed, the white one is very twitchy!

Shed

The storage shed / bunny shelter structure has been completed. I’ve already moved things out of the shop to fill about a third of the shed. It’s making for plenty of extra room in the shop and a complete reorganization. The awning will keep the rabbits dry and hopefully cool in the summer. I still have to add electricity for lights and fans.

I tried to use as much Great Dane scrap as I could. I had to buy a couple of boxes of fasteners and two pieces of wood. The rest was stuff from the shop, e.g. windows and the door.

New Purse

I have been working on this sewing project for months but my sewing machine has not been working properly. I took it into one repair shop and all they would do was a tune up, which, of course, did not work. I took it to another guy and after 2 1/2 hours he finally found out what was wrong--something that had been wrong since the machine was manufactured. At least I didn't cause the damage and it is finally fixed! I also managed to finish sewing my very-much-needed new purse, seen below.

Lindsay's Birthday

My birthday was today and Matthew brought home these beautiful flowers for me :-) I also received some great new toys for myself, my horse, and my fish. Thank you everyone!

Riding on the Beach

One of my life-long dreams came true today--I got to ride my horse, Rabi, on the beach! I used the excuse that my birthday is this coming week to convince some fellow riders to make the 2 hour trip to Hunting Island, SC. Horses are only allowed in the winter and it was too nice of a day to pass up. Sunny, high 50s, and just perfect.

Getting ready in the parking lot - note the location of the beach

The group of riders I went with, 8 in total.

Rabi didn't like the waves too much, he thought they were chasing him!

I couldn't resist a nice hand-written title for my scrapbook

Bunnies, Bunnies, Bunnies!

Our first batch of baby bunnies were born Monday, January 10th. The female, Belle, only had 2 this time but hopefully she will have more when the weather warms up. Right now the babies are staying inside and I take them out twice a day for mom to feed them. Apparently that is all the care that they need!

Almost one week old, they have a little more hair now.

They are pretty adorable!

We finally finished setting up the cages and put up a shelf to keep the food off the ground.

New Years

For New Years we went to a friends house to play games and watch the ball drop.
