About two weeks ago three coworkers and I drove to Maryland for another coworker's wedding. It was a long weekend but we all had a great time. Here we are stopped on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.
And here is the happy couple:
The day before our trip the doctor told me that the bone in my foot was completely healed so I could start walking normally again! This was just in time for me to do a little dancing at the wedding :)
As summer draws to a close it is no longer light out when I go out to feed the horses in the morning before work. So, last weekend Matthew installed three lights in the horse shed and a couple of outlets for me.
We bought special lights that the horses can't hurt themselves on.
The stalls are mostly complete now with gates, lights, name-plates, and feed bins. Next we will be working on clearing the land and putting in real fencing.
On a side note, after much deliberation I decided to quit my job at the science center. My last day will be October 31st. I'm very excited to have some free time to ride my horses, work on the house, and build a huge garden. I'm also a little sad to leave all of the animals behind, especially our latest addition, this hatchling loggerhead sea turtle.
