Fossil Hunting

Matthew and I went out on a friend's boat a couple of weekends ago to hunt for fossils on an island in the Savannah River. We spent all day relaxing on the water and walking on the island. We found some pretty cool stuff including two (partial) megalodon shark teeth along with many other teeth from various sharks and other animals.

Lauren's Family boat, we nicknamed it the Teeny-tanic (its so cute!)

Beach House

At the beginning of August Matthew and I spent a couple of days at a beach house with his family to celebrate his mom and step dad's 25th wedding anniversary. His sister also threw us a small wedding shower (a sprinkle!) during our visit. Thank you!

Here is the house we stayed in.

Can you find Matthew?

My Michigan Bridal Shower

While I was back in Michigan for Julie's wedding, my Aunts threw me a wonderful bridal shower. We played a couple of games, enjoyed wonderful food, had some great cake, and, of course, opened presents. Thank you to everyone!!

The most important part of the party, the cake!

Julie's Wedding

During my July visit to Michigan, I was the maid of honor for my best friend Julie's wedding. Here are a few photos from her big day. It was a great warm-up for me for my own upcoming wedding. Not to mention it was wonderful to be able to see her so happy and beautiful!

The day started off with some up-dos

New Animals

A few weeks ago our cat Skittles went missing. Despite all of our efforts, we have so far not been able to find her. We adopted a new cat from Animal Control 2 weeks ago and named her Zia. She is about a year old and very playful and loving. Last weekend I also got a new horse. A friend of mine was giving away a 6 year old pintabian (paint and arabian cross) mare. I have always wanted a horse like this and couldn't pass it up! The plan is for me to train her and ride her for a while and then give her to my mom to replace her older horse. We'll see if that happens! We named the new horse Pandora because I agreed to take her without actually seeing her and I don't know what I have yet.

Around the House

It has been very busy here in Savannah. Matthew has been working on our house as well as the two rentals that are empty at the moment. We have also been busy with wedding plans and looking at houses (for us, with land!). My garden has not been as productive this year, but I am still getting some tomatoes and the watermelon is growing like crazy. One of our female rabbits was supposed to have a litter last weekend but did not. We lost Bubba, our buck, a couple of weeks ago so rabbit production is slowed (well, stopped) again. We are looking for another buck but would like to get one from a different place to get some fresh genes. I am also busy trying to get things ready for my trip next week to Michigan for my best friend's wedding and my bridal shower. Here are a few photos from the last few weeks.

4th of July Weekend

Over the 4th of July weekend Max, Janet, and Elise came to visit us. We spent a lot of time touring Savannah, chatting about the wedding, window shopping for houses, and eating delicious food! Here are a few photos from their visit.

Playing "Go for Broke" and trying to lose all of our money.

We all went out to visit Rabi and I hooked him up to the cart. He behaved himself and everyone got a ride around the arena.

Although we were going to go to the beach, traffic on the 3rd of July was ridiculous so we decided to tour a fort near Savannah instead.
